Data for phone ownership and extension services comes from the Nigeria LSMS Wave 3 (2015-2016) survey. Representations are at the household level (i.e., for phone ownership, at least one person in the household owns a mobile phone; for extension services, the household has reported receiving services). Household locations are approximate and based on the center of the enumeration area (EA) in which they are located, within a 10 km radius.

The black points represent areas with at least one cell phone tower. The original data for this layer come from the World Bank OpenCellID Cell Tower Map, which counts the number of towers within 1-km grid cells and was last updated in July 1st, 2020. Thus, some geographic comparisons may be anachronistic.
